per·cep·tion (pər-sĕp'shən) - The neurological processes by which recognition and interpretation are effected.

Observing magic and illusion, or looking at a poignant photograph… The viewer’s “perception” is the common denominator between the two art forms.

A magician may purposefully direct your eye to an exacting location with misdirection. The resulting illusion can put you in a mental state of awe. A photographer uses the “Rule of Thirds” and the “S Curve” to achieve the same goal.

Sometimes a master magician can scare you with a stunt, or make you question reality with a mind reading effect. A good photograph should play with your emotions in the same way: to make you laugh, to make you cry, to pine, or reflect.

Magic is my profession… But photography is becoming my expression… Let’s see if I can mold your perception and help you to experience a frozen emotion in time…
